Daily check-in
A few scales and taps. Fill in today or catch up a missed day.
A quiet daily check-in for iPhone that stays on your iPhone. One minute today; over weeks, a shape you can actually see.
No account. No servers holding your journal. No tracking.
Why it is different
Most trackers press the day into a single slider, low to high. But a day can sit at “okay” and still be carrying something heavy — and averaged together, the part worth noticing disappears.
Most trackers
One slider, low to high.
Mood6 / 10
LowHigh
One reading has to speak for the whole day. Whatever does not fit on the line is rounded away.
POLARITY
Two readings that move on their own.
MoodOkay
DepressionEuphoria
Depressive thoughtsDark
NoneUnsafe
The same day, kept as two answers. Mood runs from Depression to Euphoria; depressive thoughts have a scale of their own, and neither is folded into the other.
Not sad to happy. The mood axis runs Depression → Stable → Euphoria, because for bipolar disorder the top of the scale is not simply the good end. A high is sometimes the part that needs watching.
Daily check-in
Mood, depressive thoughts, energy, anxiety, irritability and stress — plus sleep, food and water, medication, substances and other daily factors. No long journals: a few simple scales and questions, to save the context of the day in about a minute.
Drag a fader — this is the check-in
Trends & Insights
One entry answers almost nothing. The shape over weeks — how far it reaches, how long it lasts, how fast the ground moves — is the thing worth seeing, and the thing a single day can never show.
Today
One state, honestly recorded.
Three days
Enough for your first reflection.
A week
Trends open, and your first report.
Weeks
The shape you were living in.
Stability
On most mood apps, higher means better. For bipolar disorder that is the wrong model — a very good day can be the opening line of a very hard week. POLARITY watches steadiness instead: one reading, always taken over the last fourteen days.
ChaosStable
Descriptive, not clinical. It summarises what you logged — it is not a score, a diagnosis, or a judgement about how you are doing.
Apple Health
A state does not exist apart from the body it happens in. With your permission, POLARITY reads sleep, activity and heart-related signals and puts them beside the days you logged.
As the data builds up
After three days of check-ins the first AI Reflection opens. After the first week the first report becomes available. A missed day resets nothing: the data stays, and what has already opened does not disappear.
AI Reflection
POLARITY reads your recent entries and gathers them into one picture: what moved, what repeated, what might be worth noticing. It is written on your device with Apple Intelligence — your entries are not sent to an external AI service, and are never used to train a model.
Reports
A clean PDF of a stretch of days: mood and trends, sleep, medication, daily factors and the history day by day. Yours to keep — or to bring to a specialist, if you decide to.
Your first report opens after seven days of check-ins.
Privacy
What you write about your own mind is among the most private things you will ever keep. There is no central place for it to leak from, because there is no centre.

POLARITY was built by someone with bipolar disorder, out of the specific frustration of tracking it — of pressing a mixed day into one number and watching the part that mattered disappear.
Every decision in the app came from that, one at a time. Our approach sets out each one.
Everything in POLARITY
A few scales and taps. Fill in today or catch up a missed day.
Mood runs Depression → Euphoria, thoughts None → Unsafe. The numbers stay underneath.
Every measure over time, with the changes called out plainly.
One descriptive reading, Chaos to Stable, always over the last fourteen days.
Sleep, activity and heart signals beside your check-ins. Read-only.
Written on device with Apple Intelligence. Nothing is sent away.
A PDF for 7, 14, 30 or 60 days, or a custom range up to a year.
One tap to mark a dose. A record, never a lecture.
The check-in, your medication and your Stability, close at hand.
Milestones for showing up. Nothing is lost by staying away.
Earned only by checking in, spent on reflections and reports. Never sold for money.
Your own private database, so a new phone keeps your history.
Good to know
Nowhere you did not send it. Entries are written to POLARITY’s private storage on your device, and — unless you turn sync off — mirrored to your own private iCloud database. There is no POLARITY server holding your journal, and the developer cannot open or read it. Apple Health data is never included in that iCloud copy.
No. POLARITY is a self-observation tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or replace professional care — it helps you record what is happening and see patterns in your own data. The full medical disclaimer sets out exactly where that line sits.
It is written on your device with Apple Intelligence, which needs iOS 26 or later on a supported iPhone. Your entries are not sent to an external AI service and are not used to train models. The first one opens after three days of check-ins; where Apple Intelligence is unavailable, Highlights carry the summary instead.
Your check-ins are free, always, and everything you log stays exportable whether you subscribe or not. POLARITY includes a 14-day free period from your first check-in. After that, POLARITY Premium — $8.99 a month or $69.99 a year through the App Store — keeps Insights and Reports open and adds analysis windows longer than two weeks. Period reflections and reports are still written with the Moondust your check-ins earn; your daily reflection needs no subscription, and Moondust is never sold for money.
During a rise, a dip, or simply a stretch of heavy change, it is easy to lose the sense of your own rhythm. POLARITY does not try to explain your state for you — the app helps you keep the record and, over time, see the patterns in it.
No. There is nothing to sign up for. Sync, if you leave it on, rides your device’s own Apple ID — POLARITY never sees it.
One minute a day
One check-in is enough to begin. Everything after that is just the picture filling in.
Free to download. Your records stay yours.
